We want to express our gratitude to Alex Thornton, Chief Operating Officer of Harmony Energy, for recognising our contribution to the Pillswood BESS project, the largest battery energy storage system in Europe in terms of MWh.
The Pillswood BESS project is a pioneering initiative in the field of energy storage, with a capacity of 98 MW and an impressive 196 MWh. Its enormous capacity, combined with the innovative use of lithium-ion batteries, demonstrates Harmony’s commitment to advancing energy storage on a public scale.
CR Technology Systems was involved in the supply of no. 2 33kV EHouses, equipped with ATR 36kV 1250A 20kA switchboards, SCADAsystem and auxiliary services, ensuring a secure and reliable connection of the storage system to the national power grid.
Looking to the future, the entire planet should unite collectively to support developments such as these to enable the generation of clean energy and protect the future of our planet. With the growth of solar and wind energy, battery energy storage sites will be even more important for the correct balance of the energies at stake.
